SECFR is seeking high-quality proposals for our upcoming 2025 conference. The Strengthening Family Ties: Caring for Every Generation theme is general and intended to support a variety of projects focused on contemporary topics impacting individuals and families. All conference sessions should be informative and relevant, promote learner engagement, and demonstrate application to the work of participants. In addition, we especially desire proposals that:
- Have diverse presenters (with varying levels of experience in the field; of different nationalities; or from different institutions and geographic regions).
- Are based on or supported by research.
- Contain original, innovative ideas.
- Stimulate and provoke discussion.
- Have strong connections to practice and/or policy.
- Submit your 250 word abstract and three learning objectives by December 8, 2024!
To maintain the highest quality for all presentation sessions and comply with requirements for Continuing Education Units, clear learning objectives must be stated on each proposal. If you have questions regarding content, please email the Proposal Coordinator, Dr. Cecy Brooks ([email protected]).
Proposal Formats: Paper Presentation, Practice Presentation, Roundtables, Poster Presentation
Cancellations and Refunds: Registration refund requests for the 2025 SECFR Annual Conference (the “Conference”) must be submitted to SECFR in writing and emailed on or before 5:00PM EST on March 21, 2025, to the following email address: [email protected]
No refunds will be granted for any requests received after March 21, 2025, regardless of the reason for the request. All registration refunds are subject to a processing fee of $60 ($30 for students). In the event that SECFR cancels the Conference, registrants will be offered a full refund. Should circumstances arise that result in postponement of the Conference, SECFR has the right to either issue a full refund or transferring registration to the same event at a new date. If, for reasons outside of the control of SECFR, the Conference is presented as a virtual Conference rather than in-person Conference, SECFR will not be liable for any Conference registration fees, hotel expenses, and/or travel expenses that registrants may have incurred in connection with the Conference.
Modifications to Presentation and Related Information: We recognize that unexpected situations may arise, requiring modifications. However, we are not able to make any modifications to a proposal once an abstract has been submitted. We will also be unable to make any modifications for author(s) or presenter(s) designations once the abstract is submitted. Information in the conference program and schedule will reflect the information provided during the abstract submission.
